Cheap Healthy Tips for Detoxing your Home Life
Happy Monday!
I wanted to share some quick tips n tricks I've been chatting with friends on lately that I personally use in my life + home in case you want to implement them too!
1. Detoxify your Home
a) Cut out ALL fragrance. (Thousands of synthetic chemicals are used to create modern day fragrances for our products, and some of these chemicals have been linked to health impacts ranging from eye and skin irritation to hormone imbalance and increased risk of breast cancer.)
Try this--->
Throw out toxic candles and replace with a better alternative like soy based with essential oils.
Hell no to the Glade plug ins. These are terrible for you and your pets.
Replace fragrance detergent with a clean one.
Replace dryer sheets with a yarn ball and drops of essential oil.
Replace fabric softener with distilled white vinegar.
Try Dr. Bronner's Sal Suds Cleaner for your home
Make sure your water source is as best as can be. Checkout AquaTru
Take your shoes off at the door. Most dirt, pesticides and germs come in on the bottom of your shoes!
Switch out you plastic shower curtain which most contain polyvinyl chloride (PVC), a plastic that releases potentially harmful gases into your home & switch to a cotton liner
Remove as much plastic from your kitchen as possible and opt in for glass containers
2. Detoxify your Skincare + Toiletries
Cut all mouthwash. Try oil pulling with coconut oil (amazing for gums + teeth daily)
Swap out most floss like Oral B as they contain perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) and use cleaner brands like Toms
Drop lotions and use grape seed oil. It's cheaper + anti inflammatory
Drop eye makeup remover and use jojoba oil
Try to check makeup labels and opt for the safest brands you can
Cut fragranced bath bombs for fragrance free epson salts
Say goodbye to modern day perfume in general and try essential oils
This isn't a perfect list but I find once you begin it's pretty simple and honestly WAY cheaper. If you have other swaps let me know!
