Hey all!

My name is Amy Jo Hamilton and I am an executive director with Beautycounter.

Beautycounter is a clean beauty brand that started in California, by a woman, Gregg Renfrew, looking for cleaner, safer beauty that actually performed. We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this March.

Beautycounter is a direct retail brand that utlizies consultants to share Beautycounter’s story. We ship everything right to your home and have a 60 day free return policy. We are a B corporation- putting people and planet before profits. We will have everything recyclable, reusable or refillable by 2025. Also, we go to Washington DC and State Congresses to lobby for safer beauty laws for all. Did you know currently the US only bans 33 harmful and toxic ingredients and in EU 1500 and at Beautycounter we ban over 1800.

We carry skincare (anti-aging (retinatural), normal/dry skin, oily/acne), body care, makeup, hair care and more.

Why I started:

I had multiple miscarriages and fertility struggles so was looking to switch out all my toxic products I was using in my home. Started with cleaning products, medicines and then led to personal care. Your skin is your largest organ and these harmful ingredients can cause hormone issues and more.

What I love about being a business owner:

The time freedom and flexibility. Helping other women (and men) make cleaner, safer swaps for themselves and families.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?

I hope to have lasting impact of wonderful products that people will love and want more of! I hope to inspire anyone I meet along this journey to step out of their zone and do something they love and are passionate about. I hope that anyone that comes to my table and meets me face to face truly sees how passionate I am about cleaner products.

Who or what inspires you?

My kids! Especially my girls- not only do I want them to have access to safe products, but I want to instill a positive body image in them.

What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?

Just say YES! Start now. Even if you aren’t ready. Learn and tweak as you go!

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

To me beauty means happiness and self love! It took me a long time to figure out how to love myself! We are ALL beautiful!

What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?

Just do it already girl!!! What are you waiting for?
