HER STORY ⟡ Maryate Orduno

Today we are meeting Maryate Orduno of Amate Skinesthetics!

Why I started:

I was given an opportunity in 2020 to takeover an existing spa that my friend started in 2015. It was terrifying, as COVID shut everything down, the spa was closed for three months and it was my primary employment. My amazing clients rallied around me and helped me to keep the spa afloat. I tried to apply for jobs to work somewhere else but nothing ever worked out and then everything I started doing for the spa started to fall into place and that's when I knew this was the path for me.

What I love about being a business owner:

The freedom that it brings to make your own schedule. As a single parent it has been amazing to be able to have flexibility, living life on my own terms while creating something I love and meeting so many amazing people.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?

I hope they feel like they matter, that they can achieve their skin dreams, and are loved.

Who or what inspires you?

My daughter is my drive as she pushes me to be a better human being.

What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?

If nothing changes nothing changes. I learned that I was never going to reach my business goals if things stayed the same.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

It's leaving the house with just your sunscreen on and feeling confident in your own skin. The freedom that reaching your skin dreams can do for you is amazing!

What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?

Walk with the fear it's all going to work itself out. You can do it!

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?

I feel so happy to have found an amazing community of like minded women!
