Today, we're meeting Melissa Garza with The Skin Retreat!
Why I started:
I started The Skin Retreat because I love to make women feel good about themselves. As a mom, wife and woman, I know how important it is to care for yourself first because you can’t pour from an empty cup. You have to fill yourself up before you can give your very best and highest self to those around you.
What I love about being a business owner:
I love the relationships I’ve build with colleagues, my clients and my mentees and students. That’s what it’s really all about. Seeing the people you come in contact with in a genuine way and hopefully leaving them feeling better than before you encountered them.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
I hope that they know my desire is to impact their lives in a positive way and that I truly come from a place of wanting to empower and inspire them to be their best self.
Who or what inspires you?
Women! Women are amazing and so beautiful each in their own way and it’s that uniqueness that inspires me. Each woman I meet inspires me in a different way.
What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?
You can’t pour from an empty cup.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
Beauty is a feeling. It’s confidence and confidence is a superpower. I want every woman to have that feeling of empowerment.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
If you’re scared, do it anyway! You will always persevere. Get out of your own way and let your light shine!
