How to Create a Self Care Routine You'll Actually Follow!

Happy Monday!

In the spirit of February we're chatting all things self care with a plan/routine you'll actually stick to. Check out these steps below for some tips + tricks:)

1. Define your WHY. You'll use this when you feel unmotivated and not excited. For example, my why for certain pieces of self-care are to feel more energized, less anxiety, grounded etc

2. Decide what pieces you want to incorporate into your life that you actually enjoy! Maybe you saw some influencers TikTok on her AM routine where she gets up at 5am and on BUT FOR YOU, that'd leave you feeling crabby and lethargic. Don't just pick things that are trendy or what others are doing. Decide what's right for you. Here's some examples: setting a repeat weekly call on the calendar with your bff, long bath with a good book, journaling, daily devotional, high energy HIIT class, relaxing yoga flow and on.

3. Plan and implement but stay flexible.
If we don't put things down with concrete details then life can pass by. Decide what amount of time you want to dedicate to these pieces and what day of week/structure you want to implement. Remember you can try something out for a couple weeks then shift. You want to stay flexible to adjust and tweak as needed.

4. Keep it simple.
You don't need to have an over-exaggerated list to feel like you're checking all the boxes. Your routine could be as simple as evening time for a longer uninterrupted bath, 20 minutes of reading and no screen time after 8pm.
