HER STORY ⟡ Maggie Wilson and Amber Olivo

Today, we are meeting Maggie and Amber, owners of Disco Pop Photobooth!

Tell us about you and your background!

We are professional wedding photographers and a best friend duo photographing weddings in Ohio and also at destination locations. We met in the 8th grade and have been photographing weddings for over 10 years! In 2023 we launched our photobooth service and we have been having so much fun. We rent our photobooth to not only our wedding couples, but to anyone who wants a good time at their event!

Tell us about your business and why you started it!

Our photobooth is available to rent in the greater Cincinnati and Dayton areas and is great for weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, bachelorette parties, graduations and more! Since we have been in the event industry for so long, we thought this was the natural next step to scale our business!

What do you love about being a business owner?

Being able to come up with an idea and make it come to life. First and foremost, we are wedding photographers and we love serving our couples and capturing their love story. But with our photobooth, we really enjoy being part of our clients’ happiest moments and being able to capture memories in real time.

What type of impact do you hope to make on those you meet and/or who receive your services?

We really hope to be able to provide long lasting memories for people to enjoy for the rest of their lives. We want those who use our photobooth to look back on those pictures and remember a fun experience.

What advice would you give yourself from 5 years ago OR your past self just starting your business?

Don’t delay and take the risk! You won’t see any reward unless you dive right in.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

To us, beauty is a reflection of authenticity, where your true self shines through. Beauty is not about physical appearances. It’s about possessing qualities such as kindness, compassion, intelligence and genuine self-expression. Every single person has beauty inside of them.

Who or what inspires you?

Traveling is our constant inspiration. The diverse cultures, the architecture, the food and landscapes stimulate our creativity in the best way. We both have such a continuous sense of adventure and we end up finding an appreciation for the beauty in everything around us through travel!
