HER STORY ⟡ Monica Jagoditz

Who am I?

Hi! I am Monica Jagoditz, and I am a fierce woman with many interests, passions, and ideas. I am a full-time police officer for a local University and I have my own side business in personal fitness coaching. I had been a police officer for 11 years now, starting on my 12th year.

How did I get into fitness and what inspired me to start my own Fitness Coaching business?

I was in investigations for 3.5 years where, in that time, I definitely gained office weight. I severely disliked the way I looked in my uniform (a burnt marshmallow is how I felt) and decided I had had enough of feeling fluffy, lethargic and not worthy of the uniform. I began working out several times a week and was able to drop about 15 pounds in three months. I was ECSTATIC! My friends and family started seeing my physical results and asked me to help them, too. My sister-in-law loving working with me and told me that I should be a trainer. Therefore, after about two years of her telling me this, I finally faced the situation and studied to become an ISSA Certified Elite Trainer. I certified in personal training, sports nutrition, group fitness, and tactical conditioning. I earned my Master’s Degree in Health Education; Fitness and Exercise from the University of Cincinnati.

Who do I work with and why?

I work with women who want to regain their inner strength, confidence and physical strength. I work with my clients in the areas they would like to work, meaning, if you want to work on your strength and mobility, we will focus on that. If you want to work on weight loss, we can focus on that, too. I am simply the navigator in your journey and you are the driver. Your goals are yours alone and I do my best to give you the resources and support you need to realize and accomplish them.

I also work with first responders to regain their health so that they can live long, healthy lives up to and AFTER retirement.

What would I tell other female entrepreneurs?

Do not give up. Whatever you do, DO NOT GIVE UP. Sometimes it may feel like you aren’t moving forward in your dreams and goals, but that just means that you need to take a small step away and look at them from a new perspective. Never be afraid to ask questions. Make friends with people who are doing what you want to do and learn from them. There is no need to reinvent the wheel. There is plenty of space for everyone at every table. Just be your authentic self and the people meant for you will find you, too.
