HER STORY ⟡ Natalie Andrews

Hi ladies!

My name is Natalie Andrews and I am an Independent Marriage and Family Therapist in Cincinnati. I live with my husband and two dogs in Liberty Township, Ohio. When I’m not at work, I enjoy reading, playing with my dogs, and working on my 18,000 piece puzzle.

Why I started:

I knew from a young age that I wanted to be a therapist. I’m a storyteller, and love to hear the stories of others, so I knew therapy could be a good fit for me. I went into couple’s counseling specifically because I believe that relationships are our greatest resource, but they can be challenging. It is such a joy to help clients navigate those challenges and become a stronger team!

What I love about being a business owner:

I love the autonomy that being a business owner provides. I love being able to set my schedule so that I can prioritize my health and wellness. I also love my clients- I love to be able to support couples in growing in their relationships.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet?

My hope is that my couples are able to understand themselves and their partners more deeply. I know that therapy can be a difficult and emotional process, so I hope to create a space where my clients know they are supported through that process.

Who or what inspires you?

My colleagues inspire me. I am lucky to be surrounded by a group of strong therapists who support and challenge each other to be the best version of themselves. Their strength and passion inspires me!

What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?

My favorite quote comes from the podcast My Favorite Murder (which I’m editing to a more PG13 version): “Screw Politeness”. As women in our society, we’re taught that being polite and being liked is more important than being authentic. This quote has become my mantra as a way to help myself be brave enough to be myself, even when it’s hard, and even when I might not be liked for it.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

Beauty means intention. Beauty means authenticity. Beauty is when someone is brave enough to be exactly who they are.
