HER STORY ⟡ Natalie Gaulin

Hi! My name is Natalie, owner of Simply Sliced Charcuterie. I was born & raised in Buffalo, NY and have a deep love for the Buffalo community, and currently live in Orchard Park.

Simply Sliced was one of those things that kind of fell right into my lap. I worked in the Cheese Department at Wegmans for about 2 years while in college and was asked to make a few boards here and there for some friends and family. Never did I actually think it would turn into a business! After about 6 months of making a handful of boards, I was pushed by friends and family to start a real thing. Still not thinking it would go anywhere, I created an instagram and started to post pictures of my creations.

Little did I know, it started to take off and I was having a constant flow of orders coming. By the time summer 2023 came around a few years later, I decided it was time to take the leap and go full time. Today, we do things from individual boards, charcuterie workshops, large graze tables, and more! Really focusing on developing a true art of food.

Why I started:

Like I said, never in a million years did I expect it to turn into what it has now but I feel so beyond grateful for the support of friends, family, and community for pushing me to do something I was scared to do.

What I love about being a business owner:

I love that I can get creative as I want and make decisions that come from MY heart. Being able to center your business around what you believe in goes a really long way. I love being my own boss and having the flexibility to spend my time/life however I want!

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?

One of my favorite parts of my business is teaching charcuterie workshops and inspiring others to get creative with whatever is put in front of you. Being able to inspire them to take nothing and make it something so beautiful!

Who or What inspires you?

I am so lucky to be surrounded by so many amazing people in my life. My family will always be number one and have pushed me to get to where I am today. My dad is an incredible business man who is not afraid to take risks and push himself to the next level. He continues to inspire me everyday and has been a huge part of my businesses successes.

The charcuterie community in Buffalo is truly an inspiring group of people. We come together and support each other without competition - the friendships I have made with other local charcuterie workshops are not something I take for granted!

Quote that means a lot to me:

"You'll never do a whole lot unless you're brave enough to try"

What does Beauty mean:
Beauty means loving yourself no matter what season of life we are in! Showing love not only to yourself to the other around you will make your glow even brighter.

Advice to past self:
If you weren't scared, it wouldn't be normal. Just do it!!

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?:

I'm so excited to be apart of such a strong, powerful group of women!!
