HER STORY ⟡ Stephanie Ryall

Why I started:

When I started my counseling practicum at a mental health agency I was quickly discouraged to learn of limited mental health resources for low-income and Medicaid clients, who make up some of the neediest and most mentally ill clients. In 2016 I branched out to private practice with a goal of providing highly-specialized, trained, and informed care to this sensitive population, and I received an overwhelming amount of referrals in a very short period of time. I realized that many of the ongoing nutritional and physical barriers experienced by this population were making mental wellness nearly impossible, and also noticed that the educational and intellectual statuses of many clients made coming to insights difficult in session. I went back to the drawing board and pursued rigorous certification in Neurofeedback, a treatment modality that uses Electroencephalogram and auditory/visual feedback from video games to treat the electrical irregularities in clients' brains to be able to help them clear and sharpen their minds well enough to be able to produce insight in talk therapy sessions. I get to watch mental health disorders fall off of people and for them to be able to calm, relate, heal, focus, and sleep in ways I never could have gotten them to with just talk therapy. What I love about being a business owner: I love having the ability to open my doors to anyone and everyone who needs care and designing new programs if we find a need that we aren't set up to meet yet. I also wouldn't work somewhere where I couldn't freely advance the Gospel and I love sharing Christian music, giving out Bibles and Christian books, and praying with clients.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?

I want to spread Neurofeedback around like wildfire so that practices nationwide are helping to reduce mental illness in a med-free way!

Who or what inspires you?

Jesus.

What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received (or favorite quote)?

But you should keep a clear mind in every situation. Don’t be afraid of suffering for the Lord. Work at telling others the Good News, and fully carry out the ministry God has given you.

2 Timothy 4:5 Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

Matthew 10:7-8

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

True beauty is a life lived for the Lord in Jesus Christ. It never fails. Proverbs 31: 25-3125 She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.26 When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.27 She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.28 Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her:29 “There are many virtuous and capable women in the world, but you surpass them all!”30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised.31 Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.
