HER STORY ⟡ Tabitha Baldwin

At Jax Mini Sessions Studio, my mission is to provide a beautifully lit, high-end creative space where photographers and content creators can bring their vision to life. I’ve designed the studio as a blank canvas, giving professionals the flexibility to craft stunning imagery while also offering seasonal installations for added inspiration. But more than just a rental space, I want to cultivate a true creative community—one where photographers can connect, experiment, and grow. My goal is for every creative who walks through the door to feel inspired, supported, and empowered to do their best work.

Hi there! I’m Tabitha Baldwin, a Jacksonville Florida native, wife, and mom to three amazing kids (plus two doodle pups who keep things extra fun). I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling, which is what led me to photography in the first place. What started as a wedding photography journey has evolved into a deep love for studio photography, where I get to create and collaborate in a space designed for creativity.

I’m a beach girl at heart—there’s nothing like the sound of the waves to reset my soul. Coffee is my daily essential (the stronger, the better), and when I’m not behind the camera, you’ll probably find me watching a good documentary or getting lost in a true crime series. Family means everything to me, and that spirit of ohana carries into everything I do, especially in my studio.

Jax Mini Sessions Studio isn’t just a rental space—it’s a place for photographers and creatives to feel inspired, to experiment, and to grow. I love fostering a sense of community, whether through Featured Photographer Days or simply making sure every creative who walks through the door feels welcome and supported. More than anything, I want this space to empower photographers to do their best work and bring their visions to life.

If you’re looking for a creative space with natural light, high-end furnishings, and a supportive community, I’d love to welcome you in!

One of my favorite things about Jacksonville is how diverse and beautiful the landscape is. From the stunning beaches to the serene salt marshes, there’s something so peaceful about being surrounded by nature here. I also love the history of our city—there’s so much to discover and appreciate, from the architecture to the stories of how this place has evolved over time. Jacksonville truly offers a perfect mix of nature, history, and community that I feel so lucky to be a part of.

Why I started:
I started my businesses because I’ve always believed in the power of storytelling, and photography has been the perfect way for me to do that. When I transitioned from wedding photography to studio work, I wanted to create a space where other photographers and creatives could feel inspired and have the freedom to experiment. I knew I could make a difference by providing a welcoming environment that supports growth and creativity, and that's exactly what I set out to do.

What I love about being a business owner:
What I love most about being a business owner is the ability to create something meaningful and watch it grow. It’s not just about running a business—it’s about fostering a community and seeing people come together to create something beautiful. I love that I get to work with amazing people, help others achieve their creative goals, and constantly challenge myself to evolve.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who use your services?
I hope to leave people feeling inspired and empowered. Whether it’s photographers who walk into my studio or clients who trust me with their brand or family photos, I want them to walk away feeling like they’ve experienced something special. I want them to feel seen and confident, knowing they’re in a space where creativity and growth are encouraged.

Who or what inspires you?
I’m constantly inspired by the people around me—my family, fellow photographers, and creatives. My kids inspire me to work harder and be better every day, and my community of photographers motivates me to keep pushing the boundaries of what we can create together. I’m also inspired by the beauty of the world around me—nature, the beach, and all the little moments that can be captured through a lens.

What is your favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received or favorite quote?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received is, "You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable if you want to grow." It really resonates with me because it’s something I’ve had to embrace in my own journey. Growth doesn’t happen if we stay in our comfort zones, and every time I’ve stepped out of mine, something amazing has come from it.

What does BEAUTY mean to you?
To me, beauty is in the authenticity of a moment. It’s about capturing real emotions, genuine connections, and the little details that make life so special. Whether it's a perfectly lit portrait or an impromptu candid shot, beauty is found in truth, in the things that make us who we are.

What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
I’d tell my past self to trust the process and be patient. It’s easy to get caught up in the pressure of wanting everything to happen quickly, but real growth takes time. I’d also remind myself to never lose sight of why I started and to always stay true to my values.

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?
I’d love for the Beauty Boost members to know that no matter where you are in your journey, it’s important to stay curious, keep experimenting, and don’t be afraid to challenge yourself. Growth happens when you push past your limits—and we’re all in this together to support and inspire each other.
