HER STORY ⟡ Chelsea Mead
Hi Babes!
My name is Chelsea and I live in Cincinnati, Ohio with my two adventurous boys, awesome husband, and our two dogs and cat.
I've owned a custom engagement ring design business, (Honey Designs Jewelry), since 2015, that fills most of my business time, where I also curate proposals for my clients. In 2022 I wanted to add a permanent jewelry side to my business and allow my sister to be involved in that business and process since we live in two different states. We felt strongly that we could bring a different vibe to the permanent jewelry niche and will only ever offer high quality products and solid 14kt gold. Together we formed Forever Honey, where we can provide a permanent jewelry experience in the form of events with a little bit more of an industry edge. It's been really cool so far to bring my sister, Dakota, into the entrepreneur realm where she can have a little more flexibility with business ownership.
We were born and raised in a family owned jewelry store with our dad, where we started our personal jewelry addiction journey. While we both pursued different career opportunities, we continued to work in the jewelry industry and have a deep knowledge of all things diamonds and gold, which is also why we're all about the solid 14kt aspect when it comes to permanent jewelry.
We've been having a ton of fun exploring what types of pop-up style collaborations we enjoy and have loved creating private event experiences.
Why I started:
To start a new adventure with my lil sis and explore how we could do better in the permanent jewelry niche. Also to provide another sentimental service experience in the wedding industry.
What I love about being a business owner:
I love that I can creatively curate my life. While it's not easy, it was important to me to work my business and be available for my boys. I wanted the ultimate flexibility and the past 8+ years have allowed me just that. I'm incredibly ambitious and cannot be tamed in terms of goals.
What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet and/or who purchase your products?
I hope that friendships and milestones can be cemented with permanent gold and that anyone who experiences Forever Honey can carry the confidence you get from even minimalist quality jewelry daily.
Who or what inspires you?
Women business owners who are just killin it. Also specifically creative people who are pursuing their passions.
What is your favorite piece of advice you've ever received or favorite quote?
If it's not good, it's not finished.
What does BEAUTY mean to you?
To me beauty means embracing the good and the bad and showing up just as you are. Beauty shows up with a grateful spirit.
What advice would you give your past self just starting your business?
Be a little more strict with finances, lol. I've learned new things every single year I've been in business and battling the tough stuff was worth it for the growth.
