HER STORY ⟡ Dr. Lynn Strazzo

Today, we are meeting Dr. Lynn Strazzo of OWL Chiropractic!

Tell us about you!

As a woman, I have many roles to play. I am a business owner, a boss, a mother, a wife, and a juggler of all things. However, at the end of the day, I still see myself as the 13-year-old horse-loving band geek. I am always inspired by what people can achieve when they set their minds to it. I love my job, and I love what I do. As a child, I knew I wanted to become a doctor and run my own clinic. Once I became a chiropractic patient, I realized that this was exactly what I wanted to do.

The philosophy, mindset, and lifestyle of chiropractic were what I wanted to share with people. I graduated from Penn State University in 2009 with a degree in Neuroscience and started a Ph.D. program. However, I discovered chiropractic later that year and moved to Atlanta, GA. While studying at Life University, I met my future husband who was also there for chiropractic. We both graduated from Life University in 2013 with a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

After graduation, I worked as an associate with Dr. John Madeira for a year before starting Optimal Wellness for Life Chiropractic Center in 2015 with my now-husband. I owe much of my business success to my time as an associate. From there, the rest is history! Tell us about your business! Optimal Wellness for Life Chiropractic Center, or OWL for short, is situated in a renovated tobacco warehouse that we transformed ourselves. We take pride in every aspect of our center, from the colors on our walls to the name we've chosen. Our practice uses advanced state-of-the-art thermal imaging and motion X-ray analysis to identify and locate neurological interferences that could hinder a person's ability to heal, which ultimately affects their overall health. We welcome individuals of all ages and lifestyles, from newborns to seniors, athletes and everyone in between.

What type of impact do you hope to have on those you meet/speak to?

I hope to remind people that their health is a choice that they must make for themselves. We all have to begin somewhere, and regardless of our current situation or past actions, we can still make the choice to prioritize our health and well-being. Our bodies have incredible self-healing capabilities and by choosing to take care of ourselves, we are giving our bodies the opportunity to function at their best. The power that made the body heals the body - so choose you and make some changes!

What advice would you give to yourself from 5 years ago?

Being “successful” means different things to different people. For the same person, success may change over time, and should… AND THAT’S OK!

What does BEAUTY mean to you?

Confidence, beauty is confidence. Owning your inner band geek and rocking it, HARD!

What do you love most about owning your own business?

That it is a living breathing “thing” that has needs and demands. It is ever changing and evolving.

Who or what inspires you?

My 3 year old daughter inspires me. It is amazing to me that someone so small can have so many feelings and thoughts!

What would you like our Beauty Boost members to know?

Health is a choice and it needs to be maintained. Do not wait until it's gone to do something about it. Also, being in or out of pain is not a good indication of your health.
