Hello! I am Genine Menefield and I am the owner and operator of The Brow Therapist LLC, Boutique skincare and Brow Studio. We specialize in various eyebrow enhancements services, and trainings. Located in Blue Ash, Oh. Client satisfaction and Sanitation is our #1 Priority. We have over 100 5-star reviews on google.
In addition to being a Licensed Esthetician and Tattoo/Permanent Makeup Artist, I am a licensed Professional Counselor and School Based Therapist. With over 18 years’ experience working in social services. In 2019, I stepped out on faith and began a career transforming lives through beauty services.
Why I started:
In 2019 I hit a wall. As a single mother working 3 jobs, all in the social services field. I was overwhelmed and struggled to make ends meet. Trying to balance my role as a single mother with my professional career. I spent many nights providing intensive home-based services to children and families involved in the Child Protective System. While away from my own child, I missed out on many activities and events in her life. As a result, I decided to transition into a field that allowed me the freedom to control my time. I soon realized working in the beauty industry providing eyebrow enhancement services was much like my career as a therapist. I was able to provide an experience for my clients that boosted their self-esteem. Trust, rapport and comfort are all important aspects in a therapeutic relationship, and I strive to provide beauty experiences that encompass all of those things.
What I love about being a business owner:
What I love most about being a business owner is sharing my story. When I got certified as a Permanent makeup artist, I had Zero experience in the beauty industry. I have never worked at any spa, or salon, so I literally grew my clientele and business from scratch. I not only give BOMB brows, I train and teach others how to do the same.
What is your favorite piece of advice you’ve ever received or favorite quote:
“Successful people, are simply those who didn’t give up”. I love this quote. Throughout the growth of my business, I have not always got it right. I keep this quote in my suite to remind myself to keep pushing.
What does beauty mean to you?
Beauty to me is being comfortable in your own skin. Taking care of yourself and pouring into yourself on a regular basis. As a therapist, I understand the importance of self-care, and I encourage ALL my clients to prioritize self care.
What advice would you give you past self just starting your business?
Own pace, own race. Stop focusing on who is doing what around you. Find something that you love and perfect it. Get soo good at it that people cant think of you without thinking of the service you offer. You are only in competition with yourself.
